about

SELTSAME ZUSTÄNDE was a predecessor project of the famous german Post Punk/New Wave band ESCAPE WITH ROMEO, founded by frontman Thomas Elbern with Karl Hamacher and Silvio Franolic in Cologne/Aachen in the early 1980s.

After two tape releases the trio recorded its full-length album with producer Dieter Joswig (known for his work with NICHTS) in 1984, who released it on vinyl and tape via his label JoJo Records within the same year. Thomas Elbern subsequently moved on to form PINK TURNS BLUE, but left the band soon after to launch ESCAPE WITH ROMEO in 1989. The rest is history…

34 years later Reptile Music proudly presents the re-release of the SELTSAME ZUSTÄNDE album – which has meanwhile become a sought rarity – for the first time on CD. All tracks of the original record have been digitally remastered and the reproduced artwork has been adjusted for a digipak reissue.
