On the brink of the release of SEASURFER’s third longplayer “Zombies”, the Hamburg-based duo presents its stunning lead single “SOS”. The song somehow stands for the gloomy atmosphere of the whole album, which recording and mixing was mostly completed during the Covid-19 lockdown in spring 2020.

So in the final phase of the production mastermind Dirk Knight and songstress Apolonia had the impression that the world went more and more surreal. Not only the Corona virus, but also awkward politics and presidents as well as the almost unstoppable, still largely ignored climate catastrophe made them feel like zombies stumbling through a lost world.

Beyond that, “SOS” reveals the refined SEASURFER style in 2020: dark electronics meet ghostly synths and fuzzy wall-of-sound guitars – you can call it ELECTROGAZE for dancers and dreamers alike. Beside the original version Man Mithout Country, Patrick Blümel (hexhaus) and Luc Stargazer have contributed fine remixes ranging from synth pop over witch house to post punk.

And last but not least, the single contains an exclusive re-recording of the non-album track “The Waves”, which was not only one of the first songs Dirk Knight has written with Apolonia, but also shows the ethereal side of their rich sound spectrum.
